Santa Monica-Based Activision SVP Named To Easter Seals SoCal Board:

Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) Disability Services has named Lewis Shiro, senior vice president, financial, and administrative services for the Santa Monica-based interactive entertainment software publisher Activision Blizzard, to its board of directors for a three-year term.

The announcement was made today by Mark Whitley, president and chief executive officer of ESSC.

“We are fortunate to have Lewis on our leadership team,” said Whitley. “His extensive knowledge of both the corporate and non-profit sectors will be a tremendous benefit to Easter Seals as we continue to expand our services in Southern California.”

Shiro said he is looking forward to assisting Easter Seals with the meaningful work they do for people with disabilities, as well as veterans with or without disabilities.

“As a former member of the USO and current controller for Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty Endowment, I am especially interested in the cause of helping veterans effectively transition to civilian jobs after their military career has ended,” Shiro said.

Shiro has been with Activision Blizzard for 15 years and is currently responsible for many facets of business operations including: accounts receivable on a worldwide basis supporting revenues in excess of $4.5 billion, corporate procurement, facilities and real estate management for over 80 locations around the world managing more than 2 million square feet, corporate risk management and customer contract creation and administration.

Shiro is also the controller for the Call of Duty Endowment, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation supported by Activision Blizzard. Its goal is to identify and fund best-in-class non-profit organizations that demonstrate effective and cost-efficient veteran job placement, in order to place 25,000 veterans in jobs by the end of 2018.

Prior to working at Activision Blizzard, Shiro was the Asia Pacific Rim regional executive for the USO based in Okinawa, Japan. Among other duties in the region, he planned and executed the USO response to the evacuation of Clark Air Base and Subic Bay Naval Station in the Philippines during and after the explosion of Mt. Pinatubo. He also supported local command structures at the DMZ on the Korean Peninsula and other hot-spots throughout the region.

Shiro has been a resident of Long Beach since 1995.
