SMMUSD To Update Its Logo; Community Invited To Submit Designs

Do you have creative talent when it comes to designing logos?
The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is exploring the development of an updated logo to go along with a branding strategy that will communicate the core values of the organization.
The inclusive design process will invite everyone to submit their concepts for consideration.
A panel of volunteer design experts will judge the submissions and be responsible for refining the selected concepts for further evaluation.
The District is seeking volunteer design experts to serve on the judging panel. Volunteers should have expertise in logo design and branding, and have the capability to generate refinements of the selected logo concepts for further consideration.
The project is expected to launch in Fall 2013 and conclude by March 2014.
To apply to be on the volunteer design expert panel, send the following to SMMUSD Logo Project, c/o Sarah Wahrenbrock, SMMUSD, 1651 16th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90404 by no later than August 1, 2013:

2. Link to on-line portfolio or sample portfolio pieces
3. Why you want to be involved in this project
All submissions will be reviewed and the panel is expected to be announced by Aug. 23.
