Report Santa Monica Lost Property, Graffiti Online To Police Department

Posted Oct. 22, 2012, 2:59 am

Brenton Garen / Editor-in-Chief

Do you need to report lost property, graffiti, or other forms of vandalism?

The Santa Monica Police Department now accepts online reporting of these incidents, which eliminates the need to go to the Public Safety Facility or spend time completing the report via the telephone.

Reports are accepted online only under the following conditions:

-- The suspect was not seen or cannot be described.

-- There is no physical evidence to be examined or collected, such as fingerprints or DNA.

-- The incident occurred or the property was lost within the Santa Monica city limits.

After completing the report online, a report number will be provided and the report will be forwarded for review. If the report requires further information, a Community Service Officer will attempt to contact the reporting party to discuss other options for completing the report.

If the report can be accepted, and if the reporting party provides their e-mail address in the designated area, an official copy of the final report will be automatically e-mailed to the reporting party within approximately three business days, at no cost.

Reports may be filed online at

On Monday afternoon, 11 Feb, 2013, about 1 pm, my family picked me up in front of 1206 Pico Blvd. My backpack was mistakenly left on the sidewalk and we left. Later that evening when I learned the bag was not in the car, I called the mgr of the apt and he checked around but no backpack. It was a green woman's backpack. It had clothing and a small bag with phone and laptop chargers in it. I don't think there was any identification in it.. I wondered if perhaps it has been turned in. My phone number if 310-883-4104. Thank you.

On August 28th, 2014 my driver's license was stolen/lost while I was at the Kings Head Pub near the Santa Monica pier. I was hoping to file a report so that I can take all precautions and hopefully protect my identity. It is a Florida Driver's license. Please turn it into the police department if it has been found. Thank you!

I was working at a house in Santa Monica this morning and I left my wallet on the car roof. I forgot about my wallet ever being there and I guess it fell somewhere on the street. I have very important items in the bag/wallet. I have multiple credit cards and checks. And my car keys of both my cars. If someone finds a black rectangular Wells Fargo money bag please contact me at my phone number: (310)-738-0205, (310)848-8458, or (310)968-4581. I lost it on 231st 14th street. Santa Monica, CA. Thank you.
