If this is SMPD special ops, I would really like the step up to be in the area of rape and child abuse. Of the five choices above, I choose A, because so many car crashes are caused by careless driving.

As an insurance adjuster of many years' experience, I can assure you that distracted driving is the number one cause of motor vehicle accidents, with speeding being the second leading cause. Both are worth the deployment of safety enforcement resources. However, from a Special Ops standpoint, I'd rather see a concentration of assets in the deterrence of crimes against persons, especially in Western Santa Monica, and in the tourist areas such as the Promenade and the Pier. If we don't protect the tourist experience, then we wouldn't need to expand the Fairmont Miramar now, would we?

Step up enforcement against crimes of women, children and the elderly. There has been 6 sexual assaults in Santa Monica since January and we are not hearing about it. But if I had to pick here I pick all of them, A as the #1 culprit to dismantle.
