A 62-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease was located today by his wife after going missing for a few hours from his Culver City home.

Ronald Bruce Jay's wife found him early this evening at Overland Avenue and Culver Boulevard, said Sgt. Leon Lopez of the Culver City Police Dept.

The intersection is about a mile from his home in the 4200 block of Jackson Avenue.

"He had walked to Santa Monica and was on his way back when (his wife) found him," Lopez said.

My mother has this dreadful disease. I am her caretaker. My heart goes out to this family. If Mrs. Jay needs a great support group I'd be happy to take her to mine.
