Bail was not granted to a 25-year-old homeless man on Wednesday, Jan. 7, who broke into a woman’s apartment and fell asleep in her bed with his pants unbuttoned and a pair of the woman’s panties wrapped around his genitals.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to investigate a report of a strange man who was sleeping in the victim’s bed without permission at 9:58 pm on this day.
Upon arrival the officers spoke with the victim who told them that she had returned home at about 9:30 pm that evening and upon entering her apartment had immediately smelled an unfamiliar incense-like odor inside the apartment.
She continued to add that as she ventured deeper into her apartment she had noticed some strange black markings on her light colored couch that had not been present when she had left the apartment earlier that day.
Upon entering the bedroom she had been confronted with the sight of the strange man sprawled out on her bed. She said that the man was asleep and snoring loudly.
The victim said that at that point she had hurried out of the apartment and in doing so had noticed that the screen covering her bathroom window had been cut and that the bathroom window itself was open.
The officers entered the bedroom and discovered that the man was still asleep, snoring and sprawled across the bed with his pants unbuttoned and a pair of the victims panties wrapped around his genitals.
The officers awoke the man and arrested him and took him off to jail where he was later charged with burglary and placed under a parole hold.
