An escaped inmate was arrested outside the Pico Youth & Family Center on Wednesday night “without incident,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Times reports that Christopher Lee Brown, 37, escaped March 12 from the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles

The Times said Brown was taken into custody by Santa Monica police after being identified by an informant outside the PYFC; he was later transported back to the facility he had escaped from where he will face new charges.

Brown had been sentenced to four years, eight months in jail on felony burglary charges for stealing computers from a medical center, The Times reported.

SMPD Sgt. Jay Moroso confirmed the arrest was made at 9:20 pm Wednesday in the 2000 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

The LASD Sheriff's Inmate Information Center listed Brown's booking at 1:23 am in downtown L.A.

Why mention the Pico Youth and Family Center in this story? Was the guy trying to get in? What was his affiliation. This reads like a smear job on PYFC. But it probably is just another example of The Mirror's lack of journalistic integrity or principles. It seems that every issue of the Mirror is April Fools'.

If he ad been arrested in front of the Chamber of Commerce office would that have been in the headline?

The article made it sound as if PYFC was somehow involved with this convict. This seems like a smear campaign on an organization that is doing wonderful things for dienfrenchised youth. I hope that the Mirror turns around and does a positive article on this amazing and worthwhile organization

The article says the individual was arrested in the 2000 block of Lincoln Boulevard. The PYFC is on Pico, at 7th, at least a block away. How is it relevant to mention the PYFC then?

You are all paranoid. They probably just said PYFC because it was the closest landmark. Stop finding a conspiracy in everything!
