The Santa Monica Police Department will hold a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint tonight, April 19.

The SMPD never discloses the locations of its checkpoints, but it will be within city limits.

Drivers caught driving impaired can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases; as well as fines, fees, DUI classes, court probation and other expenses that can exceed $10,000.

During the past year, traffic collisions involving impaired drivers/riders were involved in 91 collisions; which have killed three and injured 28 people, according to SMPD Lieutenant Jay Trisler.

Police in all states in Australia conduct 'Announced' drink-driving blitzes, but "every" Police car is an RBT (Random Breath Testing) (DUI) unit, and are just as likely to set up 'anywhere, anytime' during their 'patrols'. This way "You Never Know Where" and you can be sure "Never Know When". Bob Smith Australia
