Bail was set at $50,000 each for a man and a woman on Thursday, Nov. 12, after being caught stealing from a local CVS store.
At 7:59 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department responded to a report of a theft that was in progress at the CVS store, located at 2505 Santa Monica Blvd.
The reporting party had stated that a man and a woman were in the store and that they had recognized this couple as people who had allegedly stolen thousands of dollars worth of cosmetics on prior dates.
When the officers arrived at the store the loss prevention agent from the store pointed the suspects out to the officers and the officers detained them without incident.
The officers then viewed surveillance footage that showed the couple in the act of stealing on a previous date at the same location.
On one of these previous occasions the tape showed the male half of this pair threatening the loss prevention agent of the store with physical violence if he attempted to stop them from leaving the store with the stolen merchandise.
Additional information suggested that this couple had also taken items from other CVS stores in the area.
This couple, a man aged 44, and a resident of Los Angeles, and a woman aged 39 and from Baldwin Park were arrested and charged with robbery, grand theft, and conspiracy.
