With the 405 freeway closed from Friday evening through Monday morning, the City of Santa Monica want their residents to stay in town and stock up on the necessary items to get through the weekend.
The freeway will be closed while construction adds another carpool lane.

why doesn't Santa Monica offer free public transportation for at least 2hours during this time? I think it would be great.
