If there was ever a setting that retains the essence of the unspoiled beauty of California’s coast, Terranea Resort on the Palos Verdes Peninsula is it.

Poised above coastal bluffs with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, the luxurious resort debuted in June 2009.

Guests enjoy a sophisticated, yet relaxed ambiance at this Mediterranean-inspired retreat surrounded by a glistening, panoramic seascape.

Celebrated for its natural beauty, the 102-acre estate features 582 guestrooms and suites, including spacious bungalows, casitas, and villas.

Luxurious amenities spotlight eight unique dining experiences, a full service spa and fitness center, award-winning golf course, three swimming pools, kids’ club, ecological enrichment programs, and 135,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor wedding and event space.

Situated just 25 miles south of Santa Monica, each of the resort’s guest retreats exude a warm, residential feel with luxurious, yet comfortable furnishings and private balconies that overlook elegant gardens and breathtaking ocean vistas.

Terranea’s 360-room hotel offers 326 guest rooms and 34 suites that range from 450 square feet to the 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite. Contemporary features include rich linens, stone baths, and amenities such as flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and Wi-Fi access.

Delightful Dining Destinations

Culinary enthusiasts can raise a glass to California coastal cuisine, with gourmet flair, at Terranea Resort. This breathtaking oasis invites guests to explore a range of unique dining destinations set amid glistening waves and vibrant sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.

Terranea’s eight exceptional venues cater to an international palate with fresh coastal menus and offer settings with a warm, inviting ambiance and spectacular ocean-views, making it one of Southern California’s top spots for a culinary getaway.

Here’s a look at some of the dining options:

mar’sel

Terranea’s signature restaurant reflects a modern twist on California cuisine as inventive as its name suggests (Spanish for “sea” and French for “salt”). A seasonal, gourmet menu from Chef de Cuisine Rebecca Merhej spotlights local ingredients alongside herbs and produce grown on property in the chef’s garden.

Nelson’s

With its spectacular cliff-top setting directly above the Pacific Ocean, Nelson’s is a guest favorite for casual dining. Enjoy coastal cuisine and a warm, friendly bar atmosphere surrounded by outdoor fire pits and unrivalled sunset views.

Catalina Kitchen

From a business breakfast to lunchtime gatherings with the family, guests savor a variety of options throughout the day in this elegant, yet inviting atmosphere. Dine indoors or alfresco on the outdoor terrace, amid ocean breezes and views of the coastline and the sparkling resort pool.

Bashi

Offering a contemporary blend of Asian cuisine and local flavors in a spectacular setting, Chef Bruce Nguyen prepares ‘wok’ style dishes inspired by his heritage and fond memories of traditional meals made by his mother, weaving simple fresh ingredients into flavorful creations.

Spa Café

Open for breakfast and lunch, the Spa Café offers a tranquil setting for lighter fare inspired by the seasonal bounty of California. The menu’s wraps, sandwiches and salads spotlight local ingredients and simple preparations, while revitalizing smoothies boost antioxidants with fresh fruits and juices. Enjoy a natural backdrop by the private Spa Pool or on the oceanfront terrace.

Lobby Bar, Living Room & Terrace

Terranea’s sophisticated Lobby Bar, Living Room & Terrace offer inviting spaces to unwind with warm, artistic décor and breathtaking views of the Pacific coast. Inside, guests recline in plush club chairs and sofas beside two fireplaces. The Lobby Bar features weekly musical performances alongside a full menu of signature cocktails, a carefully crafted wine list emphasizing California wineries, and regional microbrews and international beer varieties.

The Links At Terranea

The Links at Terranea is an incomparable nine-hole, par three golf course just a few steps from the Pacific Ocean.

The Links offers a collection of nine remarkable par 3s, masterfully integrated with each other and the surrounding landmarks.

Elevation changes, green contours, artful bunkering, unobstructed sightlines, and a wide range of classic strategic elements all combine to give it plenty of visual drama and sheer enjoyability.

With a variety of tee placements, the course provides a new golfer an inviting setup, and an experienced golfer the opportunity to play every type of short to long iron shot imaginable.

From the back tees, the golf course totals approximately 1,239 yards, with holes ranging from 104 to 173 yards. The Links delivers an exciting course, reasonably priced, that won’t take all day to play.

Perhaps best of all, golfers at The Links walk and take in the magnificent coastal setting, just as the game was intended to be enjoyed.

The green fee pricing for nine holes is $40 for adults 18 and older ($18 for juniors) Monday through Thursday and $48 for adults ($24 for juniors) Fridays through Sundays and holidays.
