The Santa Monica Fire Department has announced that
certain models of the Omega brand fire sprinklers, manufactured by
Central Sprinkler Company, are defective and dangerous. Failure of
these devices in a fire could result in injury or death.
Home owners and
building owners who may have Omega brand sprinklers are urged to call
the Santa Monica Fire Department Fire Prevention Division immediately
at 310 458 8915 for assistance in identifying defective sprinklers and
information on replacement and possible reimbursement.
Forms requesting replacement and reimbursement must be
postmarked on or before August 1, 1999.
