Chamber Announces August Events

   Though August is traditionally a slow month, the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce has four events on its schedule.

   On Monday, August 2, a membership luncheon will be held at the Miramar Sheraton Hotel 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. A number of speakers will give attendees updates on their organizations.

   The speakers will include Beverly Moore, Executive Director, Santa Monica Convention and Visitors Bureau, Jan Palchikoff, Executive Director, Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation, Leslie Paonessa, President, Main Street Merchants’ Association, Kathleen Rawson, Executive Director, Bayside District Corporation, Dr. Michael Gruning and Robert Wachs, Co-Chairs, Montana Merchants Association and Clyde Smith, Chair, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce Pico Boulevard Committee.

   In addition, the Chamber is asking members to bring "used professional clothing (suits, blouses, shoes, ties, briefcases) to contribute to (its) Career Clothing Drive."

   On Tuesday, August 10, the Women’s Business Council Networking Dinner, will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Double Tree Guest Suites.

   On Wednesday, August 18, the Chamber’s Mixer at Malibu Bagel Cafe, 820 Wilshire, is scheduled. It also begins at 5:30 p.m.

   The Chamber’s new member breakfast will take place on Wednesday, August 25, at 7:30 a.m. in the Courtyard by Marriott in the Marina.
