The former Pioneer Boulangerie restaurant that has been closed up for several years has been purchased by Santa Monica developer Howard Jacobs.
Jacobs intends to file with the city soon to build two apartment complexes, each with a retail component, on the site, which is bounded by Main Street, Neilson Way and Bicknell.
Architects have already been signed and among Jacobs’ potential retail tenants are the Boulangerie. Completion date is two years away.
Jacobs also owns two apartment buildings at the west end of Pico, near Shutters, and the old Pussycat theater.
