Thank You Santa Monica

Your welcome has been overwhelming.

Our fax has been humming, e-mails have been coming in, the phones ring constantly and our mail box is full.

People seem to be enjoying our efforts. We have received a lot of "thank you for doing this, we have needed a paper for a long time" calls. We thought a paper was needed, too, and that is why we founded the Mirror.

So far, the most frequent ly asked questions are "Where can I find the paper?" and "Can I subscribe?" Thanks for asking.

We've listed the places that carry the paper. All of these people have been extraordinarily kind to us and are making provisions to sell us in their businesses. On the list are all the major stands, bookstores, liquor stores, all the usual places you go to pick up a soft drink and your paper (was going to say cigarettes, but no need to encourage that) We are working on coffee shops and generally extending our reach, because we want it to be easy to find the Mirror, wherever you are.

The only hiccup in our distribution effort was at Borders on the Promenade. A store manager said they have "all the papers we need," and that "the situation is complicated." Gee, sorry to burden you guys with a local newspaper. Santa Monicans can just read the Daily News (SF Valley), I guess.

Parts of Santa Monica (11,000 homes actually) are receiving the paper by free delivery to test market response. Apartments have proven difficult to deliver to efficiently, but we are working on it. Subscriptions will be offered in the fall.

If you would like the paper handled by someone close to you, please call the office between 8 and 5, Monday through Friday, and tell Christine.

Hope you enjoy this second edition.
