Americas Music Presented At BH Public Library

Entertainment executive and popular music historian, Jim Jimirro, returns to the Beverly Hills Public Library for a third round of programs on Discovering Americas Music, an exploration of the Twentieth centurys great American songwriters.
Founding president of the Disney Channel and Walt Disney Home Video and CEO of the National Lampoon comedy franchise, Jimirro has one of the largest private collections of American popular music.
He will recount anecdotes and play selections from his collection. As he did in September, 1998 and January, 1999, he will again feature the singing of Frank Sinatra.
The series, which is free to the public, begins Wednesday, September 16 at 7 p.m. and continues on Wednesday, October 20, and Wednesday, November 17. It will focus on the music of Irving Berlin, Oscar Hammerstein, Johnny Mercer, Kurt Weill and Cy Coleman
